... for some reason having to do with railroads and interstates. According to this report on public radio's Marketplace. And Fargo is like Urumqi.

Fargo's just some tiny town that's only legitimised by Interstate 94? How delightfully condescending. Just what I'd expect from Marketplace.

I like Marketplace, actually. The speaker in the interview was, I think, from Minnesota. So that may explain it.
